Living Legacy Forests is an Australian technology for safe, natural burial — without the toxic embalming and decomposition chemicals conventional interment relies on. Each life can be commemorated by a chosen tree or plant that grows from the ground above, turning resting places back into living forest. As populations age and urban land runs short, cemeteries have become one of the least-examined environmental pressures of our time — sprawling fields of concrete and stone. This is a way to reverse that trend, and to give something back to the earth.
